Blake describing the giant's room

When I was dragged through the door I could feel the floor grating against my back. When I got in I saw the titanic chair. I could see millions of bugs and jars, and I could see gargantuan stairs. I tried and tried to climb them so it took 3 or 4 hours to do it. When I got up I could see the biggest bed ever. I walked slowly around the sleeping beast . It looked like a giant bulldog or something. It had huge teeth and giant claws I ran back down stairs quietly.

Amy - inspired to poetry write at home

Sally Barker, artist & Andrew McMillan, poet
Inspired by Landscapes session
Following the start of our unit on poetry and our visit to Cartwright Hall to see poet Andrew McMillan and artist Sally Barker, Amy wrote some fabulous pieces of poetry at home.

Here's one of them that's linked to Year 5's Be Amazed! theme.

Grassy hills, snowy mountains
All rather strange

A bit of rain here and there
All rather strange

Pink tigers
Blue elephants
All rather strange

And I mean it,
It is rather strange!
